The rent was staying to feel like tissue paper….

This is perhaps the most farkled bike I’ve seen.

It’s an ex-police bike:

Notice the lettering above the light, & home-made highway wings.

Speakers, amplifier, mirrors, UHF radio, spotlights, throttle lock, and a million other switches that I don’t know what they’re for:

Later in the day I went for a stroll through Victor Harbour which is the larger population centre near Middleton.

It’s famous for the house-drawn tram on the causeway out to Granite Island:

StinkyPete again did a great job of leading some stragglers for a tour of the Murray Mouth.

In 1931 they built “barages” to separate salt from fresh water & to regulate River height:

 

The majority is the gang left in the morning so the remainder (10) went to the Goolwa Motor Museum…

 

BoM says it feels like 7.8 here in Middleton… I think that’s being a little optimistic… But I won’t complain – not after the heat from kat week.

We had an official count of 37 Honda STs (24 x ST1300 and 13 x ST1100), a Honda Goldwing and a ring-in BMW. Mine it the blackie 7th from the right.

We the set off cruising the dam wall. Unfortunately we weren’t allowed to stop for more photos there.

Fish & chips for me – yum.

Rain started to set in during lunch. So, before we set off afterwards most of us donned our wet weather gear. This of coarse pretty much guaranteed it wouldn’t rain again. It was very windy though making for a thrilling ride over the hills, especially with wet roads.
